As the Vice President of Finance for Associated Students, Incorporated (ASI), I oversee financial matters on behalf of the
student body. I also chair the Business and Finance Committee (BFC), which is responsible for reviewing and
recommending funding allocations.
I also serve on the BeachShops Board of Directors, which oversees the operations of student-serving commercial services on campus.

This is a project I've been working on since January 2025 in a group that consists of 4 people including myself. Check back for more details closer to completion date.
My experience working on a team of 5 to build a nurse-match chatbot for AskMargot.
"Margot" is an AI Chatbot that uses NLP to interact with nurses, answer queries, and provide personalized
job recommendations, designed to improve travel nurse recruitment by replacing traditional recruiters with
data-backed, review-based job matching.
It scrapes and analyzes hospital reviews to match nurses with assignments tailored to their skills,
work-life balance, and preferences. It also learns from user interactions to refine job matches over time, and
provides real-time notifications on hospital openings, trends, and workplace insights.
Through building Margot, I gained experience in AI and NLP, and strengthened my skills in web scraping, data analysis,
and backend development using AWS and OpenAI to create a dynamic platform.
During my internship at Elimu Informatics, I worked on a project that involved integrating A2D2 services to facilitate the
collection of patient-reported outcomes (PROs) via text messages. I helped design a system that would send scheduled text
messages to patients, prompting them to complete PROs at specified times set by their physicians. Once the patients submitted
their responses, another service was used to transform the completed PROs into formatted documents and upload them to the
patient's chart in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
This experience allowed me to deepen my understanding of
healthcare data integration, particularly how technology can streamline the collection and processing of patient feedback.
I also learned how to integrate various services within a healthcare system to improve patient engagement and clinical workflows,
while gaining hands-on experience with cloud technologies like AWS Lex and Lambda for service integration.
As a member of the Southland Credit Union Student Advisory Board, I helped advise Southland Credit Union on strategies to improve student engagement and outreach on campus. Through discussions with the board, I helped assess and enhance financial services tailored to student needs. DI also evaluated the Doshi Learn App by analyzing user engagement metrics and determining how well it met its intended learning outcomes. As one of the projects I worked on for the credit union, I also compared checking accounts from various financial institutions to support informed recommendations.
With the rising cost of living, budgeting can feel overwhelming for students. To address this challenge, Joshua
Nwabuzor, Emmanuel Andrade, and I created Budgetify during a 24 hour hackathon. It's an AI-powered budgeting web
app designed to help college students take control of their finances.
Budgetify features an interactive AI chatbot powered by OpenAI that answers finance-related questions and suggests cost-saving strategies. Users can track their
spending through visual tools like charts and category breakdowns, and input personalized budgets using a customizable
form. Built with TypeScript and CSS on the frontend, Node.js with Express on the backend, and MongoDB with
Mongoose for the database, Budgetify also includes secure authentication with hashed passwords to protect user data.
This is the third version of my personal website, built using Flask, HTML, and CSS. The first version had poor visibility, while the second one, though similar in color scheme, had an inconsistent UI across devices. This latest version improves the design for better visual appeal and includes more details about my work (like what you're reading now)!
I served as a Trustee At-Large and Chair of the Services Committee for the University Recreation Board of
Trustees (URECBOT) at CSULB. In my role, I participated in decision-making processes for the new USU project in
collaboration with campus leadership and stakeholders.
This experience has been incredibly valuable, teaching me leadership skills and strategic decision-making
beyond the realms of hands-on technology. It has allowed me to develop a broader perspective
on student advocacy, governance, and community impact.
